When creating a wait condition in an workflow Microsoft allows you to use two auto-generated dates. These are labelled as “Timeout” and “Execution Time”.

Timeout is always the current time (i.e. a clock). Such that if you wanted to make a workflow wait until a specific time stored in a field in the entity then you would need to use Timeout.

Execution Time is the time when the workflow started. This can be used for things such as recording the time of an event took place.

You can find the Knowledge base Article here KB959419
You can download it here KB959419

Although the update can be uninstalled please make sure to backup all your data before installing.

Under certain conditions Microsoft CRM 4.0 will not let you update your license without a reinstall.

Refer to this Microsoft knowledge base article (KB947272) for a possible solution.

In versions of Microsoft CRM prior to version 4 if you wanted to track emails and email replies you had to make use of a tracking token (ie. CRM:xxxxxx) in the subject of your emails.

This was required so that the email router could determine what the email was regarding. The option still exists and is still the default choice in CRM 4 but it is optional as there is an alternate method.

Microsoft CRM 4 makes use of a "smart matching technology" that has a similar effect by comparing subject lines and party lists.

The tracking token can be turned off so that this "smart matching" can be used by the a CRM System Administrator via the System Settings dialog.

Our Microsoft CRM ISV solution QoS-IT makes use of a logo image file to display in print outs.

We have found that in some cases although you can open the image and view it in any windows application inc. paint that Internet Explorer cannot display it.

The solution for this has been to open it in any image editor, in our case paint and just save on top of it. This somehow allows Internet Explorer to view it.

If you have QoS-IT installed on your Microsoft CRM then you already have the Email To Case component installed. This guide will show you have to make use of the component in your CRM through a workflow.
